The MEDTRONIC SOFSILK™ Silk Sutures are nonabsorbable, sterile surgical sutures composed of fibroin, a natural protein derived from the domesticated silkworm species Bombyx mori. They are indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic and neurological surgery.
